Seixal
The place where I grew up, on the south bank of the Tagus. A land with a long tradition in shipbuilding and fishing, Seixal evolved to an Industrial suburb in the last century. Its heterogeneous landscape mixes the typical architecture of the old village by the bay with industrial areas, river beaches, tidal watermills, derelict factories close to farms with old mansions and marshland sheltering wildlife. In my childhood and teen years, with my friends, we used to play in those farms, exploring abandoned houses, even entering an old military facility, pretending that we were spies on some secret mission.
