Release The White Rabbit
An eerie, sombre record of my endless walks around London. Loaded with symbolic, personal meaning, this series evolved from the remains of an earlier project to document all the city's boroughs that I abandoned for its unreachable magnitude. It later became an exhibition

Cidade Sombra/Shadow City
In 2016 my photo book Cidade Sombra (Shadow City) was published, the result of two years drifting and photographing in the streets and backstreets of Lisbon. Here, I somehow distanced myself from the classic street photography approach on people’s daily journeys and their graphic interaction with the urban environment, or from the Cartier-Bressonian ‘decisive moment’ concept. I instead favoured a raw, unpolished look at undisclosed parts of the city, seeking its disregarded details.

Paris
Paris is a city that I truly love and visit regularly. Photographing it became one of the main reasons to return again and again.

London
Living in London has allowed me to witness the vibrancy of a truly cosmopolitan city, a place where a multitude of cultures converge, mingling together with its very British cultural heritage. This verve and uniqueness makes me feel a part of it. With a strong will to engage and create, I have been documenting the streets on a daily basis, from the intriguing, overlooked traits in the urban landscape to its liveliness and pluralism. It is from this haphazard collection of images that my projects normally unfold.

Into the Deep South
A journey into the deep south of Portugal, to the hills where my grandparents' home village stands. An emotional approach surrounded by distant memories and a vaguely haunted atmosphere.

Paris Métro
My first go at a photography project consisted in a series of people commuting in the Paris Métro (Underground). In my early teens I had become a big enthusiast of the French polar (French crime films), its peculiar, stylized depiction of Paris offered me a romanticised and exciting image of the city. Jean-Pierre Melville’s neo-noir Le Samouraï is one of my favourite films ever, with a breathtaking Métro chase sequence, starring an icy, angelical Alain Delon. I had those scenes, along with the hypnotic François de Roubaix sound score looping through my mind as I walked with my camera across the maze-like Métro corridors.

Lisbon
My beloved former city where I have lived for many years, Lisbon was the perfect location to develop my first photography projects, for its peculiar features, the hills with uneven bumpy streets providing striking perspectives, the overwhelming, distinctive light or the decadent beauty of old weathered façades. Lisbon changed a lot since I have left, and because of this, whenever I return, it seems like even more time as passed. Comparing the photos I recently took to the ones from the time when I lived there, it is often easy to discern a before and after.

Rome
This is a selection from two rolls of film that I have took in my Roman holiday. I sometimes like to photograph cities embracing an evident touristic thematic and achieve a certain look of old vintage postcards with a twist.

Edinburgh
A few photos from a trip to Edinburgh, a lovely city with a timeless soul and charming elegance. Definitely, a place to visit again and continue to explore..

Seixal
The place where I grew up, on the south bank of the Tagus. A land with a long tradition in shipbuilding and fishing, Seixal evolved to an Industrial suburb in the last century. Its heterogeneous landscape mixes the typical architecture of the old village by the bay with industrial areas, river beaches, tidal watermills, derelict factories close to farms with old mansions and marshland sheltering wildlife. In my childhood and teen years, with my friends, we used to play in those farms, exploring abandoned houses, even entering an old military facility, pretending that we were spies on some secret mission.
